Two sisters from Burkina Faso:

A travel around African Culture

Cynthia and Sandy (C&S) have this love for African textiles in all shades and colors, textures.  We have always proudly wore them and wanted to make our beloved African culture integrate part of our home. We  choose "Wogda" which in our native language Moore (Burkina Faso) means "Weaving" connecting us to our grandmother who inspired us as she used to weave to provide for her family.

From a very young age we were already very familiar with the Mossi textiles and furthermore learned about the different tribe textiles and techniques in our country which with time we extended to neighboring countries in West Africa notably Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Niger, Ghana....

Decorating our first apartment in New York seemed intricate we all know how New York spaces ;) but its simplicity ignited our desire to make this long going project that  was difficult to achieve as one of us was living in France and the other in the US a reality. We found joy and delight playing with structures, arts and textiles from our land which brought us back to our childhood and closer. It is also thanks to our friends, who found it refreshing and wanted to know and see more.

We know that African loincloths and prints of natural dyes have a long history. C&S Wogda specializes in home decor based on 100% cotton textiles and handweavings from different countries of the African continent.

We try to promote, enhance, the beauty of African culture to the rest of the world. Welcome to a journey, to amaze your eyes and warm your heart.
